Buying kitchen cabinets is not where the relationship with a cabinet supplier should end. After the purchase, there are still important steps such as order verification, cabinet inspection, damage reporting, delivery coordination, post-sale communication, and resolving missing or incorrect items. Taking care of these details before assembly and installation can help prevent delays, misunderstandings, and unexpected problems during the kitchen project.
After ordering cabinets, customers should request the kitchen layout and 3D design from the supplier and provide them to the installer. When the cabinets are delivered to the job location, the shipment should be checked to make sure all ordered cabinets and components have arrived before the delivery notice is acknowledged. Before assembling or installing the cabinets, the installer should also inspect them for visible damage and immediately inform the customer if there is a problem. The customer can then report the issue to the supplier. If visible damage is not reported until after the affected cabinet has been assembled, modified, or installed, the supplier may not accept the damage claim or provide a replacement, depending on the supplier's terms and policies.
